Dr Abhishek Srivastava (MBBS, MD, DNB, PhD) is Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Specialist in Neurological Rehabilitation and Director, Center for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai. He is a Triple Doctorate in Rehabilitation Medicine, First PhD in Neurological Rehabilitation in the country from prestigious National Institute of Neurosciences, Bangalore and underwent specialty training at best centers in United States, Europe and Singapore. He has received numerous Awards and Fellowships in the field of neurosciences and rehabilitation.
Dr Srivastava is Honorary Medical Staff Member at reputed Shepherd Medical Center, Atlanta, USA. He is the Founder Director of Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation, Executive Committee Member of Indian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Editor of Newsletter of Indian Stroke Society and Peer Reviewer for various International Journals. Dr Srivastava has more than 13 years of experience in Rehabilitation Medicine. He has set up the first and only of its kind comprehensive Center for Rehabilitation in India at Kokilaben Hospital. His clinical areas of interest are stroke, traumatic brain injury, hypoxic encephalopathy and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. He is an expert in 3D Instrumented Gait Analysis and multimodality spasticity management including Botulinum toxin injections, and Robotics in Neurorehab.

Prof. Matilde Leonardi - Italy

Prof. Matilde Leonardi is currently the Director of Neurology, Public Health, Disability Unit and the Scientific Director and Coordinator of Coma Research Centre of Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta in Italy. She is also a teaching professor in Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano that teaching Neuropsychiatry, Disability and Public Health. 
Prof. Leonardi is appointed by the Italian Cosiety of Neurology as the member of the EAN Scientific Panel Coma and chronic disorders of consciousness for 2018 – 2019. Prof. Leonardi is an active member of several organizations focusing and holding several positions in World Health Organization focusing in Disability and Rehabilitation.
Prof. Matilde Leonardi is involved in international and national scientific research projects such as : TAPAS IN AGING PROJECT (2019 – 2021), JOINT ACTION CHRODIS Plus (2017 – 2020), PATHWAYS (2015-2018) and others as coordinator or partner. She is currently the Chair of the Special Interest Group on Measurement and Assessment of World Federation of Neurorehabilitation(WFNR).

Dr. Ahmed Al-Khayer

Dr. Ahmad Al Khayer is currently a Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and the Medical Director of NMC Provita International Medical Center. Dr. Al-Khayer completed his rehabilitation medicine training in the United Kingdom along with two fellowships; a clinical fellowship in pain medicine, and a clinical research fellowship in spinal disorders. He has accumulated over 10 years experience in developing multidisciplinary musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation services. He joined NMC Provita International Medical Centre in May 2017, and has overseen the development of rehabilitation services since then. Dr. Al-Khayer is interested in neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine, chronic pain, and interventional rehabilitation and pain management procedures.

Dr. Alia Nadia Ammar

Clinical Neuropsychologist, Head of Neuropsychology

Dr. Alia Ammar earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Her training and clinical experience in clinical neuropsychology was completed under the Houston Conference Model, the world’s most stringent standard in this field, and was completed at the University of Chicago Hospitals (1998-2002), the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (2002-2003 internship) and the University of Illinois College of Medicine postdoctoral fellowship (2003-2005 postdoctoral fellowship). She was previously the CEO of a private practice in the Chicago region that provided neuropsychological assessment services for adult/geriatric inpatients and outpatients drawn from the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychiatry, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, and Internal Medicine. She was also engaged in the training of externs/interns at UIC and JBVAMC and conducted seminars for the Psychology residents at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Ammar has published research on TBI, electrical injuries, and PTSD. Dr. Ammar moved to Abu Dhabi in 2017 with the goal of establishing the highest standard of neuropsychological services in the UAE as the Head of Neuropsychology for the American Center for Psychiatry & Neurology. She holds licensure in clinical neuropsychology/ psychology and as an aeromedical specialist. Dr. Ammar serves as an expert panelist in Mental Health and is an IRB Ethics Committee Co-Chairperson.

Dr. Asim Wasti

Dr. Wasti ​​completed his bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Khyber Medical College Peshawar, Pakistan. He moved United Kingdom for postgraduate studies in 1984. Dr Wasti entered into Rehabilitation Medicine training in Leeds Teaching Hospitals and became consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in UK. He served on as British Society of Rehabilitation representative on Consensus Reference Group for Multiple Sclerosis Guidelines, commissioned by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence. Dr. Wasti is well-known for his views on cultural and ethical variances and the implications of these on neurorehabilitation. He currently serves as Regional VP, WFNR (Gulf Region), Chair Service Development SIG and Co-Chair Ethics SIG, WFNR. Has served as Chair of several conferences, and he frequently delivers invited lectures.

Ms. Emma Steenbergen

Emma Steenbergen, MPT, is a Physical Therapist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD), Emma worked as Senior Physical Therapist at the University Hospital of Groningen (UMCG) in the Netherlands, on the ICU, Orthopedic and trauma units. Currently, Emma works on the Cardiac, Neurology and Medical-Surgical ICUs. Emma received her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from University College of Groningen, The Netherlands in 2002 and her Master’s from the University of Utrecht in 2010.
Emma has received advanced training in ICU physiotherapy and sport related injuries. She is currently a member of the Dutch Healthcare Professionals Register (BIG). She is on a mission to empower clinical patients to take on a pro-active and more involved approach in their own healing process through early mobilization and assisting fellow caregivers to promote a safe early mobilization culture.

Ms. Fatema Nasser

Fatema Nasser is a Speech and Language Therapist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. She completed her degree in Bachelor of Science in Speech Sciences in the University College London and currently completing her master’s degree in International Healthcare Leadership in The University of Manchester. Fatema Nasser has more than 9 years of experience in the field of Speech and Language Therapy. Prior to joining CCAD, she worked as Speech and Language Therapist in Mafraq Hospital and Berlin Medical and Neurological Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi. She also worked in The Wollington Hospital in London with the same field of profession. Fatema Nasser, as a Speech and Language Therapist in CCAD is responsible in providing swallowing assessments and treatments across all in-patient wards including ICU, and out-patient services.

Ms. Laura Taylor

Laura Taylor is the Nurse Manager of the Post-Acute Rehabilitation wards, Critical Care ward (ICU/PICU) and the Out-Patients Clinics at Capital Health’s Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Laura is a qualified Registered General Nurse who obtained her qualification in Sheffield University in the UK. She has over 19 years of experience with the majority of it being in a leadership / nurse management role. She has a range of experience gained in both the UK and the UAE which covers the following healthcare fields: rehabilitation care, geriatric care, medical care, and surgical care.

Prof. Mario Patricolo

Prof. Mario Patricolo is currently a consultant Pediatric Surgeon/Urologist and a Medical Director at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Surgery in Mohammad Bin Rashid University in Dubai. He completed his Degree in Medicine at University of Rome in 1990. Prof. Patricolo has special Interest in continence in children and adolescent, neurologic bladder, urodynamics, Minimally Invasive Urology, and endoscopic urology. He is the regional representative (Middle East) of International Children's Continence Society, member of International Continence Society, and the Ambassador in the Gulf Region of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation. Dr. Patricolo was the first physician to perform the first procedures of botulinum toxin A injection in children in the UAE.

Mr. Meqdad Hamzeh Mahmoud

Meqdad Mahmoud is a fully qualified, specialist Occupational Therapist with international experience and with specialist interest in paediatric services. Meqdad worked for more than 20 years across various sectors in education, health care and community settings across the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and have consulted with colleagues in Sweden, Germany and the UK. He holds professional registrations with organizations in Jordan and South African and is a trainer in Neuro-Developmental Therapy (Bobath qualified). Mr. Meqdad has engaged several projects locally in the UAE such as specialized wheelchair/seating symposiums and services. As a senior member of the OT community regionally, Mr. Meqdad constantly asked to train and conduct workshops related to OT practice in other countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Oman. With his knowledge in OT, this position provides with the opportunity to interact, be exposed, and deliver the state-of-the-art products and technologies to enable people with disability to overcome barriers and participate enthusiastically within their societies and communities. Currently, Mr. Meqdad is Senior Occupational Therapist in Al Ain Hospital. He is working with adult and children with neurological disorder. He is also working in the AAH Stroke unit; the first CCPC accredited program within the region.

Dr. Mohamed Elhadi Malik is currently a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist at Mediclinic Group. He is also an external examiner for the membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics (MRCPCH)and postgraduate diploma in paediatrics and Child Health, (DCH) UK and an instructor of International Paediatric Epilepsy Training course (IPET). Dr. Prathap Raghavan is a Consultant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tawam Hospital. Prior to his joining at Tawam Hospital, he was based in Canada and worked at Royal Inland Hospital and Hillside Center -- A Neuropsychiatric Facility until 2017. He completed his training in Rehabilitation Medicine at Yorkshire Deanery and University of Leeds, and in General Internal Medicine at Royal Oldham Hospital in United Kingdom. Dr. Prathap has vast experience in India and in Saudi Arabia before he moved to UK. He also has presented in several conferences internationally, as speaker and abstract presenter discussing topics that focuses in neurological rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury. Dr. Prathap was previously a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and an executive member of Stroke ISIG, American College of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Dr. Ranjith Menon

Dr Ranjith Menon, prior to his joining at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, was a consultant neurologist at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital, Abu Dhabi and The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, UK (January 2014 until August 2017). He completed his specialist Neurology CCT training from The Walton Centre in 2012 (2008 to 2012). The Walton Centre is the only comprehensive Neuroscience NHS Trust in the UK. He pursued his Clinical Fellowship in Stroke Neurology at The University of Toronto (2012 to 2013). He completed his Doctoral Research Degree MD (Res) from St George's University of London (UK). He undertook his junior Neurology training at The Radcliffe Infirmary, University of Oxford and The Bart's and The London NHS Trust (London, UK). He was actively involved in clinical research and teaching of medical students in the UK. He has published several peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He is an active member of the Association of British Neurologist (ABN), British Association of Stroke Physicians (BASP) and Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

Ms. Raquel Neves

Ms. Raquel Neves is presently the Rehabilitation Unit Manager in Royal Health Hospital in Al Ain. Prior to her current position, she worked as Stroke Coordinator and Rehabilitation Team Leader in Amana Healthcare Medical and Rehabilitation Hospital from 2016 to 2018. She finishes her study in Degree in Nursing Maria Fernanda Resende Nursing School in Lisbon, Portugal on 2006. Ms. Raquel Neves took her Master’s Degree in Nursing Rehabilitation in Lisbon Nursing School in Lisbon, Portugal on 2013. She is currently competing her PhD in Nursing at Carlfield University in Texas, USA. Ms. Raquel Neves has presented as spealers in several conferences in and outside UAE, and she is also an active member of different rehabilitation organizations in UAE.

Ms. Sharmila Banu

Ms. Sharmila Banu is a Senior Physiotherapist in Thumbay Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Hospital. She has an educational qualification of Doctor of Physiotherapy and Master of Physiotherapy in Loma Linda University, USA and India, accordingly. Her area of expertise are in Neuro and Vestibular Rehabilitation, movement analysis, and lymphedema therapy. Ms. Sharmila Banu received an award for Academic Excellence and Dean's List from Loma Linda University and received several awards from several facilities in Ajman where she used to work. She is also an active invited lecturer of Loma Linda University that frequently discusses topics in her area of expertise.

Dr. Waleed Jasim

Dr Waleed Jasim is working in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City as a Specialist Anesthesia with Admitting Privileges since 2007. Prior to joining SKMC, he worked in UK, Qatar, Yemen, UAE, and Iraq as Specialist Anesthesia in several facilities. Dr Waleed is an ACLS instructor and he was previously worked as a lecturer and Clinical Instructor in his previous positions.  He contributed largely to some guidelines and protocols in his current facility. Dr Waleed is also an active member of some international societies and is also a key player in introducing SKMC to several international ICU figures. He has also been invited to a speaker at some conferences both local and international.

Dr.William DeMayo

Dr. William DeMayo, prior to his joining at Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital held several positions in some medical facilities in USA -- Summit Medical Rehabilitation, Medicare & Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Conemaugh Health System Neuroscience Center, and Defense Veterans Brain Injury Center, mostly as consultant and Medical Director. He completed his residency in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and his degree of medicine in Columbia University. Dr. DeMayo is a professional member of Pennsylvania Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and American Medical Association. He is also engaged in several researches and publications about post-polio and Robotic Neuro-Rehabilitation.
